Accessories for Rotary Phase Converters

Kilogen Modules

On Rotary models it is sometimes practical to use a capacitor (Kilogen) module on one or more large load motors to achieve better voltage and current balance. Connection is by furnished terminal block on all models. This panel connects to an individual motor at the load side of the motor's magnetic starter, and does not affect the normal operation of the rotary converter. Clear instructions furnished

Hard-Start Panels

On some rotary phase converter applications a special panel is required to assist an extremely hard-starting motor. Connection is via terminal block on all models. Clear instructions furnished. These start and run panels will improve performance on any manufacturer's Rotary Phase Converter. If you are having problems with one or more motors on your present converter, consult GWM for connection specifications.

Line-TamerTM Soft-Starting Option for Rotary Converters

Some electrical utility companies place restrictions on the largest motor-type load you are allowed to start on their single-phase line. The rotary converter is a motor generator and larger models can cause line disturbance when started. Our Line-TamerTM option allows the rotary to attain operating speed at only 33% of the normal current inrush required for comparable across-the-line start models. A timer automatically shifts the rotary into its full-power run mode before loads are introduced. Uses generic, dependable wye start/delta run motor technology to operate. Includes one each start and run mode DP contactors, timer and necessary auxiliary components factory-installed on your converter and ready to operate. This converter does not use electrolytic motor-starting capacitors. This option does not include main magnetic starter to switch the rotary off/on. Main magnetic starter with fusing is also available
